About the plants, with the plants and for the plants.

Situated right in the center of the Polish capital, the University of Warsaw Botanic Garden is the kingdom of plants and a natural sanctuary in the urban landscape. We believe that conducting botanical research and spreading scientific knowledge about plants, their relations with other organisms, their extraordinary biology, ecology and beauty, helps building broad support for their protection.

These functions of the garden are crucial for the survival of the world as we know it – the local familiar spaces, and the ones thousands of kilometers away. Without plants, life on Earth would be much harder and less diverse for all beings, including humans.

The essential elements of our mission are evidence-based education, as well as social, artistic and promotional activities. Our aim is to raise awareness of the role of plants in the world, the bond between humans and nature, and the threats brought about by rampant biodiversity loss and climate change.

The Non-Anthropocentric Cultural Subjectivity action cooperates with the University of Warsaw Botanic Garden as port of the Literature – Contexts – Posthumanism sub-project.
